چکیده

Abstract Background Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in women. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) overexpression seen 20 out 100 invasive breast cancers. Among HER2+ patients, two distinct hormone (HR) subtypes can be defined: HR-positive (HR+) and HR-negative (HR−) each which with unique therapeutic response survival pattern. Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) an emerging novel imaging modality that offers diagnostic performance comparable to contrast-enhanced MRI. The purpose this retrospective study was describe CESM features cancers according status assess whether specific mammographic differentiate between HER2+/HR+ HER2+/HR− potentially aiding treatment planning patients. Results A total 61 patients were included. Twenty-nine cases (47.5%) 32 (52.5%) HER2+/HR−. No statistically significant difference found presentations hormonal status. HR- more likely multifocal ( P 0.018), rounded or oval (P 0.008), circumscribed 0.004), associated non-mass enhancement (NME) < 0.001). HR+ showed a tendency for irregular shape spiculated outline heterogeneous 0.021) ring 0.046) enhancement. Conclusions tumors have different demographic, pathologic Because HER2 clinical outcomes, enhance patient outcome by accelerating diagnosis treatment.

An introduction to contrast enhanced spectral mammography

Contrast enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) is a new technology, gaining acceptance throughout Europe and the USA, but only recently introduced to the UK. GE Healthcare is currently the only UK vendor of CESM, using the brand name Senobright. In this article, we will explore the theory behind the technology and the practicalities of performing the test. A brief literature overview is provided...

Imaging features of estrogen-negative breast cancers: a correlation study with human epidermal growth factor type II overexpression

Background: Estrogen-negative breast cancers have different clinical course, prognostic features and treatment response in comparison to estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancers. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) oncoprotein has found to have a pivotal role in natural cell growth and cell division and is suggested to be directly related to tumor invasiveness in brea...

Mammographic findings in different breast cancer subtypes (luminal, Her2 positive, triple negative)

Background: Prognosis and management of breast cancer are defined by different variables including histological type, grading, clinical stage, Her2+, estrogen and progesterone receptor conditions. Generally, mammography is one of the most important imaging which is done in breast cancer patients. The aim of this research was to evaluate different mammographic patterns in different breast cancer...

Fusion of contrast-enhanced breast MR and mammographic imaging data

Increasing use is being made of Gd-DTPA contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging for breast cancer assessment since it provides 3D functional information via pharmacokinetic interaction between contrast agent and tumour vascularity, and because it is applicable to women of all ages as well as patients with post-operative scarring. Contrast-enhanced MRI (CE-MRI) is complementary to conventio...

Risk of second breast cancers after lobular carcinoma in situ according to hormone receptor status

BACKGROUND Although subsequent breast cancer risk after primary lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) has been studied intensively, whether the risk of second breast cancer after first LCIS varies with hormone receptor (HR) status of primary tumor remains unclear. METHODS We identified 10,304 women with primary pure unilateral LCIS between 1998 and 2007 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End ...
